Shopaholics

Took a 2 hour "nap" before getting up at 3:00am to get ready for work. Sunny & Lucy drove up around 4am and we stopped by Dunkin Donuts for some caffiene because we were all soo tired. After my coffee I felt a lot better. I had to fold up the bottom of my halter all day because it had an American Eagle logo on it lol =X Anyways we had to come in early today because someone from the corporate office was visiting so everything had to be in tip top condition. I was assigned to run clothes on the first floor (ground level) with like all the professional, older ladies (like zone leaders and people who decide where clothes are placed). I've never done first floor before so I was mad slow in running the rack of clothes. I think the girl I was running it with was pissed cause it took me twice as long as it did for her lol so she had to work more. Also the older ladies were mad anal about the clothes. They kept criticizing me about the way I placed the clothes and stuff.

This was before the store opened so no customers were allowed in (besides who shops between 5am and 9am?? I will answer this question later). Anyways co-workers just coming in for work knocks the front door and we have to go open the door cause it's locked.

I was pretty absorbed in my "making things look perfect" so-i-don't-get-yelled-at mode, when someone knocks on the door but I wasn't listening.

One of the older workers looked at me and said, "Do you work here?"

And when he said that, I'm thinking wtf? Of course I work here. It's 6am, who do you think I am?!

And when I nodded stupidly, he said, "Then open the door".

He said it like I was a huge lazy ass pretending I didn't hear the door knock so I didn't have to get it. -_-

Anyways oh yea, funny story. It was about 8:45Am and it was 15 minutes before the store opens, and this frantic looking lady knocks on our door. One of our employees went to get the door and see what she needed. I heard her begging the employee to let her in to get something really quick. The employee insists that she wait 15 minutes. She looks around with her crazy eyes and she spots me nearby folding some clothes. She runs over and pulls me in and says, "I really need a white shirt and black pants" I tell her they're upstairs but she'd have to get 'em later. The employee urges her to leave and wait til the store opens. She doesnt.

So security comes and he tells her to leave. She literally BEGGED him to let her "shop" but not buy anything til the store opens. She kept whining "please, please, please let me shop" and the security guard was really firm with his "No ma'm you have to wait"

I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she had an interview or something and wasn't dressed for it and desperately needed something formal quick. But she did end up coming back soon after the store opened and spent a lot of time shopping around. I guess she didn't actually have an interview or anything urgent to attend that she needed to shop before the store opened to the public. Shopaholic?

Oh yea I accidentally directed her to a dressing room that wasn't open. She was changing inside when an employee yelled at her to get out because the dressing room wasn't open for public yet. I was like, oh crap, and I scurried off so that woman wouldn't kill me for getting her in trouble. Teehee.

I was assigned to Twelve by Twelve again, with 2 other people. Very unnecessary because Twelve by Twelve is a pretty small room, and it is it's own line, so you don't have trouble figuring out which clothes belong in this section of the store. But the manager was super anal about everything for corporate so he put three people in charge of this area. We were so bored at some point (just because everything was PERFECT and we didn't know what else to clean up anymore) that we just made messes just so we'd have something to do lol.

Anyways, today wasn't so bad, surprisingly since I had to wake up so early. Got out around 3:30PM and met up with Viv at 8th Ave. Went to my insurance place to ask about my insurance again. Apparently since I'm working this summer, I'm making too much income to be considered for Fidelis. I have to wait til I quit my job before I can get insurance. Damn, no doctors for the entire summer. Oh well. Let's hope I don't get sick or injured! Or else i'm screwed =[

Oh our way back, the black clouds looked really ominous and the wind was blowing extra hard so we knew rain was coming soon. We felt a few rain drops and started to run in case the big rain hits. So we're running past the crowded 8th ave (already kinda embarassing) because we looked kinda crazy running. We finally take a break when we were closer to my house. But then the wind blew over the table and with the loud bang of the table, we jumped to our feets and started running and laughing like crazy because we got scared from the table falling over. We ran all the way to my house and we kept saying, if it doesn't rain soon, all of our running would've been futile. And it did rain.....an hour later -_-. totally didn't have to run like crazy people lol. funny as heck though!

We talked for a while and then grabbed pho and thought about what to do for my bday. Woopee! Almost 21!

Triangle Face

No work today so I thought I could sleep in. But nooo. My mom woke me up at 10:30am and made me call the insurance people and I found out that my insurance expired at the end of May. Damn. So I was calling and apparently I had to fill out some renewal forms and what not. Then I had to call Old Navy because I had to pay my bill on their card but their website is being gay and not working for me. Their automated system pissed me off because it took forever to get to a real representative (and no, pressing zero repeatedly did not work)

Anyways then Viv, Dara, Kenny, and Allen came over and we chatted for a while and we were laughing about someone who looked like the cartoon character that I nicknamed "Triangle Face" I found the cassette for the cartoon I was talking about (mad old school racist asian cartoon about monkey king) and we all watched it downstairs. Triangle face was really named "Crazy Glue" but had serious resemblence to the guy we knew. Haha.

Jimmy was biking over so he got here a lil later. Before he came by bike, he said he had to "check the clouds". Haha, no, not "I'm going to check the weather" or "I'm going to see if it's going to rain" , it had to be "checking the clouds" I dunno why me and Viv found that phrase so funny lol. We're weird.

Cinnabuns!

Then we watched some of Confessions of a Shopaholic and got hungry and decided to get food. The guys went to get us food and me and Viv baked cookies and cinnabuns. Yum. We didn't burn anything! It came out really good and we all stuffed ourselves silly. So...much...food.

I got a call from work saying I had to come in at 5am the following morning. I was like what the heck! That's mad last minute and super early...I was all grouchy and not looking foward to the morning considering I only had a few hours of sleep before work. Thank goodness Sunny was driving me and Lucy to work. Lucky Viv had scheduled her driving video that day so she didn't have to go.

Bap Til You Drop

No work today! Woke up nice and late. It's starting to get annoying when I realized I have no clock in my room. So when I wake, I can only guesstimate the real time and drag my ass outta bed to check my laptop or my cellie charging across the room. By that time, I might as well stay awake lol. Cleaned up my room and my suitcases because I've been coming home so late from work that I haven't bothered to tidy up for a while. Then I decided to finally make the bibimbap because my mom already cut the meat out for me. But I needed some beansprouts & spinach so my mom walked with me to get it.

At first we were just going to go to the grocery at the end of the block but then turns out they sold out of bean sprouts. Then we checked every market along 8th ave (and that's alotta markets) and no one had it! So a one-block walk turned into a 11-block trek to Hong Kong Supermarket. I was so glad to see the bucket of beansprouts woohooo! They also had free samples of this oil-free, msg-free, gluten-free, fancy instant noodles. Which tasted delicious but I didn't buy it because I was still skeptical lol.

Anyways two chinese ladies recognized my mom and stopped to talk to her. They spoke my native language so I knew they were from my village. They knew my mom but my mom had no idea who they were.

Lady #1: Hey! You're so-and-so's sister right?
Mom: Yea, hi! You look so familiar...
Lady #1: I'm so-and-so's friend
Mom: Mm..don't know that person...
Lady #2: How about so-and-so?
Mom: Nope
Lady #1: So-and-so? (last desperate attempt to make a connection)
Mom: Sorry I don't know, but were you at this blahblah event?
Lady #1 & 2: No, but we recognize you, we've met before!
Mom: *stare*

*they continue make friendly conversation despite the super awkwardness of my mom not recognizing them*

Anyways, awkward. Got my groceries and walked home. On the way home my mom kept telling me to find a guy 4 years or older than me because apparently he'd cherish me more than boys my age? Oh god.

extra meaty bibimbop (I had a extra bowl of meat on the side because it wouldn't fit teehee)

Making bibimbop was actually as easy as it looked. Double checked on this site called Bap Til You Drop (haha) to make sure I was making it right.

all mixed in with the hot pepper paste. yum!

I made a big big serving of it in a big stone pot (didn't have a stone bowl). My mom, brother, and I ate all of it. So no leftovers =[ ohhh well! It tasted just like the ones I've had before so I was satisfied. Oh yea, and we got the right sauce !

Then I had massive food coma and took a 2 hour nap. Now it's 11:24PM and I'm up again!

Forever 21, Number One!

Today I went early to meet up with Christine, Christie, Vicky, and Sorn at 34st. We sat inside Kunjip Restaurant and just caught up and stuff. Thanks big for the presents!! Super cute :)

Then I had to run to work. But the girls came to visit meee! Before starting our shifts, one of the co-managers, Andy, made us do a Forever21 cheer that goes like this "Forever 21, Number one!" with our hands all together in the middle and stuff. Lame-ooo!

one of the Twelve by Twelve pieces. Trust me, it looks a lot more crazy when it's not being worn.

I got assigned to maintain Twelve by Twelve. It's this pink room (yea another pink room) next to the entrance of the store. It's a brand that Forever21 sells. The style is kind of like vintage royalty (think Mary Antoinette) meets drag queen. So the stuff is pretty ruffle-y and lacey and really flashy. There's like peacock feathers and all kinds of drag queen looking like things lol.

At first I was like ohh, not bad, I just have to maintain a small room versus a small section on a huge floor. But then I look at the very back of the room and there was the "dunno-where-this-crap-goes" rack with like a bajillion pieces of random clothing from this line thrown all over it. It was on top of the overflowing rack, pieces of clothes were clogged on the bottom, just in a general--a monster of a mess.

I spent pretty much a good part of the day trying to organize it. I decided to organize it by color because it's easier to figure out where to put miscellaneous stuff. Some clothes were so outlandish I just didn't know how anyone could ever buy this stuff! Anyways, at least there was AC in my little room, cause once I walked out of the room, the ground floor was like a sauna since it was next to the entrance.

It started raining like hell at some point and people were going nuts and running into the store and crowding around the entrance. Rain was blowing in the store and outside it looked like the rain would hurt you if you had tried to fight it. It was pounding on the pavement. Huge raindrops.

Ate a "jung" (the rice stuff wrapped in leaves) for my 30-min break. After the store closed, we had to run clothes for HOURS! My feet hurt soo bad and the worst was my back was hurting (dunno why) probably from walking on flats for 12 hours (again). At some point we were just randomly sticking clothes anywhere just so we could leave. We were all so exhausted.

After work, Sunny & "stranger" (Alex) came to pick people up to go to David's (one of our assistant managers) birthday bash at 100 fun. He had the second floor and the balcony. Since we got out around 3, we got there around like 3:30am. They were BBQing on the balcony and drinking. It was like another Forever21 co-worker reunion LOL. Met some of the workers there. It was really fun. Even our other co-manager, Peng, was there. It was so funny that he dressed up all thug with his baseball cap and his high tops because he was like 30ish and he always wears formal stuff at work. And he's very professional at Forever21.

Lucy & Sunny eating with me at a bakery. Mock Dimsum and milktea!

Then 100fun closed around 4:00am so we moved the party to Sunny's apartment. Didn't really do much there but some of us were in Sunny's bed and we just chatted haha. Finally Sunny drove Sharry, Lucy, and me home. He dropped Sharry off and then him, lucy, and I decided to get some milk tea at 6 in the morning LOL. So we went to a bakery that was open and we just drank milk tea, ate some dimsum and talked about life lol.

Now it's 8:20AM and i think it's finally time for bed. Goodnight!

Life Outside of Work

Today was a typical boring work day. The only cool thing was that it was free pinkberry day so I used my 30min lunch break to wait on line for it in the rain LOL. that's how ghettto of an asian i am :) Anyways, I got it in 25 minutes, leaving me 5 minutes to make the 4 block walk back to Forever21. As I was inhaling my delicious tropical swirl frozen yogurt in the rain, I realized I needed some real food or I'd die by the end of the day. So i RAN to subways and told the guy I was in a HUGE hurry. He packed my sandwich soo fast and with a spoon in my mouth, I juggled my pinkberry and my umbrella and my wallet and managed to pay the cashier. Then I ran back to work. I made it! I ate my sandwich during my 10 min break (well only 6 inches of it because I can't finish the whole footlong in 10 minutes lol). David Chan walked in on me rapidly beasting my sandwich and he made fun of me for being a pig lol.

After work, Sunny drove to Forever21 with David Chan to pick up the girls after closing.

Funny story first:
Sharry, Lucy, and I waited for Sunny to come and we saw what we thought was Sunny's car across the street. We ran across the street and Sharry opened the car door to get in. Suddenly we all realized it WASN'T Sunny nor his car and Sharry ran away laughing so hard and I ran after her laughing my ass off. Lucy had to re-close the car door because apparently Sharry didn't close it right. Oh the embarassment of trying to get into a stranger's car...

Oh but then it gets more interesting.

The real Sunny's car finally rolls up and we all make sure it's ACTUALLY him. We go inside the car, retelling the story about breaking into a strangers car. Then that strangers car actually rolled up ahead of our parked car & stopped. The guy gets out and we're like WTF it's the stranger!! Turns out, he came with Sunny in case more people needed rides. So he wasn't a stranger after all. Haha.

Sharry & Lucy went with them and I stayed behind to meet up with Jason (who left the club party but drank a lil so couldn't drive yet) So I walked around with him til he felt better after getting some water at a pizza place. Then we drove to meet Sunny & the girls up at Americana. SOO many of my co-workers & assistant managers were there. It was like a Forever21 crew hang out lol. Went home after we ate.

Passed out around 6...and having to wake up at 12pm (6 hours of sleep nOoO!)

Pink Room

Today I worked in a section called the Pink Room aka lingerieee! It's basically a random section of the store that has painted pink walls and is set up to represent a "bedroom". Think of it as a mini victoria's secrets lol. I had to arrange all these bras and panties and a huge shelf of a bajillion t-shirts. I spent most of my time folding t-shirts because when people browse through them, they open it up or like knock piles over. It got really annoying! There's a desk thing that looks like something from Victoria's Secrets that holds the underwear. there's drawers that says x-small, small, medium, large, etc. Except we don't exactly sort it according to size. It's more like me shoving random panties in whatever drawer has space LOL. There's this huge mirror in the Pink Room and it's probably the only full length mirror in the whole store, so a lot of people try on clothes in front of it.

Why is it so bad? Because whatever they don't like, they throw it on top of the panties desk and I end up with a giant pile of clothes from god-knows-where. I tried to block off the mirror with this rack of lingerie but people kept shoving it over so they could use the mirror.

One man was topless as he was trying on t-shirts. A woman had her jeans at her ankles so she could see what she looked like with our skirt. At first I was telling people to use the dressing rooms but I soon realized they didn't give a crap about what I said. So i gave up and just made room on a rack for the random pieces of clothing they dumped. One of my managers told me that some lady on the third floor once stood there with only bra and panties on LOL. Some people are not afraid to go public in their birthday suits.

Some lady got caught shoplifting and the cops came. I only heard about this, I didn't see. But apparently it happens pretty often.

I didn't realize how busy the store was today because not alot of traffic goes on in the lingerie section (People don't really go to Forever21 for their bras&panties lol thank god). But when I tried to return random pieces of clothing to their rightful spots, I couldn't even get to my destination because it was just so crowded!! It was crazy! All hell broke loose! I just shrank back into my Pink Room and was super grateful to be maintaining that area and not the clothing sections of the store.

Lunch break was very sad. I ate a burger in our teeny tiny break room. Someone's phone in the locker just kept playing some song. Either someone called nonstop for 30 minutes or their alarm wouldn't shut up. Either way, everyone in the break room was annoyed. To get an idea of how small my break room is, think of like the size of three bathroom stalls. There's literally no walking space, just a few chairs, a table, and two minifridges. Oh yea and the bathroom is in front of us so the break room smells like funk half the time. Sigh.

After the store FINALLY closed, we looked at the store and knew deep in our hearts that tonight was going to be a super super late night. It was like a tornado ran through the store. We were very understaffed today too. So we tried our best to clean up and run a few racks of clothes but it took so many hours! The managers were nice enough to buy us all bags of chips and water. Someone from corporate was visiting tomorrow so everything had to be extra neat and stuff.

We finally got dismissed around 3:30ish AM. I felt bad for the janitor dude, who started talking to me in chinese today lol. He had to be there for just as long as we did, except he spent the whole day cleaning and scrubbing and all that hard labor. He must've been 10x as tired as me.

Me, Viv, Alan (our co-worker), and two of our assistant managers went home together. The trains were super super slow. Alan ended up walking me home because he said he couldn't live with his conscience if he let me walk home alone lol. How nice. But there's gonna be alot of late nights ahead and I'm going to have to battle it alone. Ahhh! Gotta buy myself some pepper spray!

Just super tired. I got home at 5AM. I'm really to pass out. Toodleloo everyone!

The Foreign Land of Flushing

lol it looked like that skirt, maybe it wasn't a dress but instead a skirt? either way it looks awful.

Today was the first day we had to open the store so we had to be there at 7am, which meant waking up at 5am!! I fell asleep around almost 2am--so that meant I had 3 hours of sleep :( I was super tired and was a lil late so I missed my bus to 36st and took the B11 to the D train instead. Vivian called and she was waiting for the same train as me. We got to work just in time and had to run clothes all day. (Running is pretty much getting a rack of random clothes and then putting it back in its place in the store). lol me and viv ended up working together so we were laughing about how we couldnt find the right location for sooo many clothes. If we found two or more of the same miscellaneous outfit, we'd just start a new spot for it haha. We also encountered what we feel is probably the ugliest piece of clothing ever--it was this super ruffled black tube dress (so it looks like a basic rectangle) that looked like shingles on a roof. Then we found it's identical twin in white. How horrifying that there is more than one copy of this atrocious fashion disaster.

After a few hours I started feeling the tiredness seep in. My whole body just felt exhausted. But the best thing happened. The manager let us go, 3 hours in advance!! I was more than elated that I was free by 12pm. Viv was on her lunch break and I told her I was let out. She then attempted to see if she was able to leave early too.

Forever 21 has this loss-prevention policy of checking their employees bags before you leave the store. Since I had already got my bag checked by the manager and left the store I didn't want to go back in cuz then I'd have to have the manager check my bag again before i exited. Thus to see if Vivian got permission to leave early too, I snuck back in and hid behind a rack of men's dress shirts to see what the manager said. It was such a spy moment.

Fortunately she was allowed to leave early too. We went to Flushing together and sat in Mcdonalds. We both got an iced coffee but her's was too sugary and mines wasn't sugary enough. So we kept alternating our drinks to balance it out lol. Soon enough we both had to pee really bad. Since I had a thing against going to bathrooms in fast food restaurants, we ran across the street to Old Navy. Sadly, their bathroom was under construction cuz the sink blew up or something. Then we ran to the library where Vivian had a funny blonde moment with the librarian.

Vivian: Can I have the keys to the bathroom?
Librarian: You don't need the keys, it's public.
Vivian: Where are your bathrooms?
Librarian: There's one in the basement and one on the third floor. (we're currently on the ground level)
Vivian: Which one is closer?!
Librarian: I would assume the basement...
Vivian: Oh. right. THANKS!

this is the fancy mall staircase!
Psst..click on the picture above for the clear version and don't forget to scroll right cause it's long! So proud of my panorama shot!

me and viv trying on trenchcoats at the fancy mall. mines was way too long HAHA

After we peed, Jason arrived and we went to Duane Reade really quickly before we started walking around. We went to this new mall that looked super fancy. Well, we wasn't sure what it was at first but we were like oo let's check it out, it looks shiny and new haha. With lit staircases and fishes in their fountains, everything was all new and luxurious looking.

After that we went to get bubble tea at Sago. It was very very yummy :) I got the Milk tea with Coffee and Viv got the Coconut Bubble tea and Jason got the Spiced Chai bubble tea. We all tried each others drinks lol. Thanks for treating us Jason! Oh yea when I went into the bathroom to pee (again) the lady before me took a huge dump and didn't flush! Ugh, some people...

We went to Macys to try to finish the rest of our gift cards but failed because Macys suck. Seriously.

Went to a fancy Korean bakery cause Jason was hungry for some snacks. It was so spacy and nice. I like !!

Then we went on a search for Morning Glory or some kind of stationary store. (This reminded us of the great search of Romantic) We went into Flushing Mall, which looked nice on the outside, but was nasty and run down on the inside. It was like a desperate attempt to create a thriving mall out of a previous Chuckee Cheeese's or something because it was all dull-colorful inside with random designs and stuff. The bathroom there gave me the heebie jeebies because I had to fight a family of flies to make it to the toilet and the bathroom smelled like rotting crap. I ran out of there as fast as I could. I vowed never to return.

We found some cute stores near the train station and then we piled into Jason's car and he drove us to the Korean supermarket. I wanted to get the hot sauce to make bibimbop at home. We couldn't read the labels because it was written in korean. To ensure that it was the right product, Jason opened the seal for one of them and licked some of the sauce lol. We still couldn't really tell but I'm trusting Jason on this one!

Finally we went to some Taiwanese restaurant called 66 for dinner. Jason kept praising their beef stew soup so me and Viv got it. It tasted pretty good! Slurped that good stuff down and then he drove us home. I gave him Peanut because his cat supposedly ate his hamster. Bye bye peanut!

I had a fabulous day today, all thanks to getting out of work early. Woohoo!

PS. I love my biffle/homie/v <3

PPS. today's the first day i forgot my camera so hooray for phone pics!

PPPS. sorry for super long entry lol

Home Sweet Home

He's Just Not That Into You

Stayed home today for the first time in a while. Figured I'd rest before work tomorrow, which starts at 7am, meaning I'd have to wake at 5am (in less than 8 hours ahh!). Got woken up this morning mad times. First my mom comes in to get my laundry and then my brother's teacher calls and I had to talk to her. Then I had to write down the teacher's message and put it on my brother's desk. After that it took forever before I could fall asleep again lol. I woke up around 1-ish and just chatted online all day haha.

I started and finished the book, "He's Just Not That Into You" that me & viv bought together.

Tried playing with Peanut again but failed because he hates me =[ Then my mom came home and she told me to make her a card???? Weird.

Then I got into an argument with my mom. It all started because I asked her if my dad and her was coming to my graduation. She said probably not because my dad doesn't know how to drive there (I needed them to drive because I got mad crap to take back home). I told them I'd give them directions but she said that its not going to help. I kind of got annoyed because it's really typical of my parents to not try new things and play everything safe. Every time they are challenged, 9 times out of 10, they would just not try to do it.

So the argument soon got onto the topic of me going away to college. She said I should've stayed in the city and I disagreed and said that going away to college gave me so many new experiences that I could've never gotten if I had stayed in the same place all my life.

I just couldn't agree with her at all. Would I have really gotten just as many new experiences if I had stayed in the city versus living away from home? To me, it'd feel like going to high school all over again. I'd probably hang out with the same people, go to school, go home, rinse & repeat. There's nothing wrong with hanging out with the same people and I absolutely love my friends in the city but I love broadening my horizons, meeting new people, seeing and experiencing new things--and that's something I associate with picking up my roots and moving it somewhere else; surround myself with brand new people, in a brand new environment.

Maybe it would've been just as new and exciting to go to college in the city but I didn't want to be in the city always. Sometimes it's just nice to be in a new place and the biggest thing for me was being independent from my household. Rochester isn't exactly far but it's definitely different.

D-day (aka drinking day)

I thought about all the things that I got in Rochester that I may or may not have experienced if I had stayed in the city:

1. Greek Life ( i don't care what they say, it's NOT the same being greek in a commuter school)
2. Living on my own & living with others
3. Doing my own laundry LOL
4. TRAVELING! I've been to so many new places
5. meeting all these interesting & new people--especially international students
6. taking care of myself
7. Tae kwon do
8. house parties! lots of them!
9. frat house parties haha.
10. planning and executing events
11. snow doesn't faze me anymore
12. SLEDDING behind the school on lunch trays haha
13. walmart <3

There's a ton more but this is just random things off the top of my head. I know it all seems like social things but that's just what it is. That's life--experiences and people. Academics can only take you so far in life, but without the wonderful people you've met along the way, you'll end up short. That's why I was so adamant about going away for school.

take a back seat and enjoy the view of the city that never sleeps

One thing I really appreciated about going away to Rochester is that it really made me realize how much I absolutely missed the city. There's nothing like your hometown and no matter how far I go, there's only one place I call home. New York City. I'm always dying to go back home, to my friends, to my family. Going away may be exciting and all, but there's seriously nothing like home sweet home.

"Today...NO!!!!!!!!!!!!"

taking retarded pics @ EC lol

Solomon was gonna be in my neighborhood because he was seeing his doctor so I told him to give me a call when he was done with it. But I forgot I left my phone on silent during the movies yesterday so when he called, I slept through it. So sorry you had to wait so long lol. Took a shower and Viv came over soon after. After they both ate some of the fruit in my house (lol) we went to meet up with Kelvin at 36st. We were supposed to call him when we were getting close but he wasn't picking up. Turns out he was waiting down in the train platform. Went to Chinatown cause Viv & Kelvin both wanted haircuts. Sat with Viv as she got her super super cute new haircut. Then we all met up at EC and went to Macy's.

On the ride there we started talking about weddings for some reason and we all spent a while talking about who we'd have as our groomsmen/bestmans and bridesmaids/maid-of-honors. Weird but funny haha.

Haha tried to blow my gift card (for the millionth time) so I got some simple summer dress for the beach or something. They lost me for a while cause I was lookin for something to buy haha. But they found me later on and we gave up on trying to find stuff to buy. We went back to Chinatown for the Shanghai dumplings @ Shanghai Cafe. So good. Kelvin got the best tasting mango smoothie evarrrr. Stupid rain got my feet all dirty >=[

After that we went back to my place so I could give back the unlimited metro to my aunt. Had a 10 second dinner with my dad for Father's day, grabbed Cranium and went back into the waiting car. Kelvin drove us back to his place where we played Celebrity Taboo & Cranium. O-M-G it was the funniest games ever.

Viv: *points to light*
Rena: genie! aladdin!
Viv: he's on the $20 bill, no wait $50, no $100!!!!!!!

Welcome home, Peanut

Sutamina Ramen

My dad drove me to Union sq because I was meeting up with Jason. I watched him at breakdance training for like an hour and by that time he was all nasty and sweaty haha. Some black dude was there and he was MAD jacked!

After his training, I dragged him to Petco where we both adopted a Roborovski hamster each! I got a new species of hamsters because I figured it was time for something new. They were super super cute but they were very skittish and fast. They're nothing like Tofu (a Siberian hamster), who was friendly with strangers. I named mine Peanut and he named his Nosy cause his had this extra large nose LOL. Peanut is super scared of human contact so it's probably gonna take forever before he trusts me. Patience!!

We put the hamsters in the car and then we went to eat at this really good ramen place called Menkui-Tei at St.Marks. I tried this ramen with pork, scallions, leek, & egg with spicy miso soup. It was really yummy. We bumped into some of Jason's breakdancing friends from the training there too.

It was drizzling out all day, which kinda sucked but I'm just glad it was light rain. After that we went to the theatre around union sq to watch Hangover but it didn't play there! So we got into the car and went to the one at Times sq. Got some amazing waffle fries at 99 Miles to Philly first. The movie was SO FUNNY--it's definitely a must see.

No Pain, No Gain

cute pic found online!

Warning: Long complaints ahead...

Another long day of closing. Not even going to bore you with the details. I think the only upside to this day was that me & Viv got assigned to work in the same area so I wasn't bored like usual. Some lady yelled at me because I didn't know where the dress she was looking for was located. "What kind of damn employees do they got workin' here?!"

The hispanic women who work there yelled at me in Spanish :'( I didn't do anything wrong!! My feet hurt as usual but today my back hurt too. Damn. I'm gonna be a crippled girl by the end of summer. Oh yea it gets worse. I saw my schedule for next week and I have to work til closing on BOTH friday and saturday. There goes my social life...

Ate lunch aloneeeeee today because everyone gets assigned a specific lunch break. Called someone to keep me company but it's not the same =[ Oh yea the break room for Forever21 is the size of a closet. There's like three chairs and during break you still can't sit because there's just not enough chairs to go around. What's the point of break when you can't even rest your sore feet =[.

What a depressing post. On the brighter note, when I came home, I treated myself to a bowl of icecream and strawberries. Yum.

P.S. no work til next Tuesday wooot!

PPS. Trying to figure out a way to weasel myself out of work for my birthday....

PPS. Won't get paid til after three weeks. Argh.

Third Day and Counting

He got us Green Tea yogurt with blueberries, mango, & kiwi :)

Third day of work and not getting used to it yet. Today they had me working behind the counter with the computer/scanner-mabob. Some other Forever21 ordered 1,000 pairs of sunglasses from my Forever21 so me and my co-worker Sharry had to scan AND package all 1,000 pairs. Each box held around 80 pairs. Halfway through there was a glitch and we had to re-do an entire box. I think the worst part was that my scanner was like busted kinda so all the ones with the silver barcodes i had to type in because it wouldn't scan =[ I didn't actually mind doing it because it's better than walking in circles around the same area cleaning up after messy customers and having to deal with their questions. Sadly we finished in a few hours so we had to go on the floor and maintain the clothes. Me & Sharry took our lunch breaks together and ran to Mcdonalds and pretty much swallowed our food whole because 30 minutes is not enough to savor anything. Then I was maintaining the bottom floor area when David Choy came in. Surprise! lol I told him Viv was upstairs.

When he came back down, he's like "I'm going to take the train with you guys so give me a call when you get out"

I pretty much responded, "Uhh...you know we're closing today right? We could end anytime between 11PM and like 3AM"

But he said it was okay haha. It was our first time staying til closing. The store closes at 10:30PM but we have to stay and clean up for few hours after that. We actually got out "early" today at 11:30PM because they said usually it's after midnight. When we got out, we called David and he came to us with Pinkberry! I thought it was the sweetest thing ever because after a long day, nothing looks better than dessert. Me & Viv engulfed that delicious yogurty treat *drools*

Satisfied Cravings

Blueberry, caramel pecan, strawberry

Woohoo! I had today off of work so I took advantage of sleeping in and woke up at 2:30PM. It felt great. Then I watched this anime that Brian burned me called Toradora for a while before I went to meet up Jason @ Union Sq.

We met up and decided to walk to Chinatown to get Eilene's cheesecake! But on the way there we got the new Coffee Toffee Twisted Frosty at Wendy's (so damn good!) We got three cheesecake cupcakes (blueberry, strawberry, & caramel pecan) at Eilene's Cheesecake which were super delicious.

Then we looked for this dumpling place that sells frozen shanghai dumplings for you to cook at home, but unfortunately it was closed.

I saw Chee and some other Baruch-heads at Grand St. park playing handball :P
Then we went to this dumpling restaurant and ate actual fresh shanghai dumplings. It was sooo good cause I've been craving it for a while now. Being as clumsy as I am, I dropped my dumplings twice and got some of the juice on my pants nooo!! It's okay though cause of the 5 second rule, yes!

After that we walked back to Union Sq. I met up with Phil Lopezzz because he was at Union sq too (at a McDonalds). We chatted for a while and then me and Jason headed back to his car. He drove me back and we ended up listening to random stuff on his Itouch and watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother. Oh yea and we beat each other up with these ginormous Hulk fist-gloves. What an ending to a night! So much food to make my belly happy :)

Second Day at Forever 21

Hello world! I'm officially starting my first blog since Xanga died haha. Feels like I'm back in high school logging in my daily doings to the smallest detail again. I'm not sure why I ever stopped--probably because college ate up all my free time :(

Anyways I got a job working at Forever21 at 34st. Today was my 2nd day at work and already I'm pooped! My group (the new hires) consists of 14 people--most of which is my age. The girls in my group are SUPER cute (I'm not exaggerating!) and the best part is that I get to work with my best friend Viv. Sadly, I don't see her except during our planned breaks together. I pretty much get assigned a zone to cover/manage and I walk around that zone all day tidying up the clothes haha. It becomes extremely tedious and half the time I'm hoping someone messed up a pile of clothes so that I'd have something to do lol. Oh well, it pays, I'll take anything right about now. The pay is actually pretty good so I have no problem with the job, although walking around for up to 10 hours can really make your feet sore =[

The customers asks a lot of questions about where to find certain clothes but I don't have a single clue where everything is, since there are 3 floors and each floor is pretty big. Not to mention that they change the layout of the location of clothes very, very frequently so there's no way anyone can ever keep track. I started work today at 10AM and it ended around 7:30PM. What a long day, I need sleep ahora! Good night everyone :)
