Umbrella ella eh eh eh
okay so, i need to remember about 2 week's worth of life events for my "daily" blog. oh man, here we go!

No work today! Zendrix was back from Ohio for the week (for July 4th) so since this was my only day off, I spent it with him. I met up with him at 34st and we walked around Manhattan mall for a bit. Sniffed a bunch of perfumes at Victoria Secrets but i still like mines the best. Why is perfume so expensive?! Damn =[
Then went to grab something to eat quickly so we went to McDonalds. After that we went to see the movie "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock. It was a cute movie :) I was holding off seeing Transformers with Solomon so we couldn't watch that. When we got out of the movie, it was pouring outside. I rumbled through my bag to look for my umbrella but I couldn't find it! I was annoyed that I had lost it today, and especially during a time when I really needed it. I traced my footsteps and figured I had left it in Mcdonalds earlier.
We decided to make a run for it, through the heavy rain. He gave me his dress shirt and I held it over my head like some sort of cape haha. We ran to Mcdonalds with a teeny tiny spark of hope that perhaps it was still there. Sadly, it was gone. I had written my full name on the umbrella too (don't ask). So whoever has it will see Rena Wu on the handle haha.
Then we ran across the street to Kmart. Most of the nice umbrellas were already sold. I was torn between a super cute&sturdy but bigger umbrella vs. a super tiny&compact but more fragile umbrella. I ended up with the teeny tiny one. Convenience over quality haha.
When I went on line to pay for my umbrella, the cashier looked pissed off at the customer in front of me because they were super indecisive about what they wanted. They ended up deciding to buy nothing they had already given to the cashier to scan. When it was my turn, the cashier gave me an exasperated look, as if she was thinking, "today's going to be a LONG day". I smiled back in agreement. It was as if our wordless agreement had struck a relief-cord in her mind because then she decided to type in a different price for my umbrella and I only had to pay half. Cool beans. Sometimes people just want some sort of acknowledgement for their services. I told her I also did retail and I know how tiring it gets. She laughed and we said goodbye.
When we got outside, it was as if the sun decided to show it's face once again. It didn't rain for the rest of the day/night. We walked to St.Marks. On the way, I called my mom and got absorbed into our conversation. I wasn't looking where I was going so when we crossed the street, I didn't notice we had reached the curb and I tripped, lost my flip flop, and fell fowards. It was like time stopped as I flailed my arms in a rotating manner to somehow balance myself and prevent a deadly face plant. Zendrix heard my random noises of despair and came to my rescue and grabbed my arms seconds before I hit the ground. Then I retrieved my flipflops and added that moment to the clumsy rena archives, haha.
We kind of got lost on the way to St.Marks from Union sq. I don't know why, I've made that trek numerous times. I'm just a hopeless navigator. After many many many circles, we finally made our way to St.Marks. I wanted to go to this Japanese Ramen place I went to with Jason called Menkui-Tei. We walked around looking for it and I gave up and decided to call Jason and ask where it was.
We couldn't decide on just ONE thing to eat so we decided to split two dishes. We got the Katsu Curry and a Ramen dish. I ate exactly half of the rice dish and he tried to eat half of the ramen. Then we swapped and finished the rest. What a great idea. We get the best of both worlds; why have one when you can have two?
After that, we went to Red Mango for some dessert. Yum. I love that stuff.
Then, we walked around St.Marks for a while. Ended up at Starbucks because I had to pee. Zendrix left and I met up with Jason.
Jason wanted to eat so I sat with him as he ate Katsu Curry too, at a different place. Then we went to Washington Square Park and sat in front of the static fountain. Too bad, it would've been so pretty if it was turned on. We just talked for a while, watched some How I Met Your Mother on his Itouch. Then went home.
