Barbecue in the Rain

Was supposed to go to the beach today but it was raining all week so changed the plans to a barbecue at Kenny's house. Kelvin, Viv, & I went to pathmark to get barbecue materials.

Well, it was more like using our asian senses and sniffing out the cheapest deals for everything possible.

It was a pretty wild goose hunt for cheap stuff. We looked through all the unit prices and quantities. It was not a question about quality lol. We almost gave up hope on the buns and put the $1.19 SunBuns in the cart but then Kelvin ran over with bags of 99cent buns in his hands. We got super good deals with Kelvins Pathmark card (discount of 20+ dollars) I think the best deal was like 8 dollars knocked off the beef patties.

Anyways, enough of our cheapness. We went to Kenny's where Joe, Calvin, & Solomon arrived shortly after. Jack and Kenny's girlfriend, Judy were there as well. Me & Viv cooked on the grill (where are the men for this job?!) and the guys just sat around the backyard and talked.

There was a cat on the next yard over that Joe was afraid of. He told us about some crazy black cat that mauled some lady.

Then it looked like it was about to rain when we put the chicken wings on the grill. We set up the umbrella that Kenny's dad gave us, and the rest of the people took the food and stuff inside. So Viv, Kelvin, and I squeezed under the big umbrella as we cooked the chicken. It started pouring insanely and we realized the umbrella wasn't waterproof?! The raindrops went right through. So we closed the grill and abandoned our poor chicken and ran inside. The rain was so torrential. It looked almost painful to be in lol.

We all played rockband safely inside Kenny's basement. Suddenly a flood of water came up through the basement drain and all over the floor. The entire basement floor was covered in water. Kelvin's socks got wet lol. Kenny's dad came down and handed everyone some mops and towels and we all started trying to soak up the mess. (By we, I mean everyone except Viv & I LOL)

After we were done, we toasted to a good job by taking shots of 151. (again, by we, I mean everyone except Viv & I) I took a shot with Jack later on though. Viv & I went back outside to check on the chicken we left behind. It was cold and half uncooked so we reheated it and then ate it later.

Chilled a bit longer and it was getting stuffy so me & Viv decided to leave a little earlier. Kelvin drove us home.
